On June 28th, lean in without falling over circle members met for their monthly gathering, to celebrate the spirit Ramadan. Hosted by one of the oldest and most committed members of the circle, Nazia, who opened her home and treated the ladies to a hearty Iftar meal in a warm welcoming atmosphere, where everyone felt home.
After Iftar, the members had a brief introductory round where new members were welcome to the circle and introduced to the values and objectives of the Lean in without falling over Dubai lean in circle.
The diversity of the group allowed an enriching interaction among ladies who are observing the month of Ramadan as Muslims, and others who don’t but enjoy the festive spirit and eager to know more about cultural differences in the way Ramadan is celebrated in different countries across the Muslim World.
This was the second social gathering among 19th monthly gatherings that the circle has already hosted since its launch. The monthly gatherings are usually themed around various topics previously, suggested by members, which relate to common challenges faced by women or topics of interest to learn more about, whether on professional or personal levels. The outcome of the discussions is usually summarized and circulated, by the moderators of the circle, to the attendees in order to benefit from the different perspectives.
Topics, such as “ Can women have it all?”, “What is success?”, “Overcoming fear through art therapy” are examples of topics that were already discussed or experienced in different monthly gatherings.
Lean in without falling over circle, is the first Lean in circle in the GCC, based on Sheryl Sandberg global initiative Lean in organization, that was inspired from her book: Lean in, women, work, and the will to lead. The circle was launched in October 2014, starting with six ladies, and now counts close to 200 members, all eager to be part of a safe container, where they can exchange, be inspired and offer and receive peer support.
Lean in without falling over, is an initiative by Sustain Leadership consultancy, whose founders, are two ladies who are very passionate and committed to facilitating positive and sustainable change within women’s lives and communities.
